Leovigildo : Pesecución religiosa y defensa de la unidad del reino
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to discover if Leovigild was, as Gregory of Tours and Isidore of Seville affirmed, a systematic persecutor of the Catholic-niceist population of his kingdom, or if, on the contrary, this Visigothic king acted only against those members of the orthodox episcopacy who, either supporting Hermenegild’s revolt or refusing to obey the royal orders, contributed to distress dangerously the unifying and royal strengthening policies undertaken by Leovigild.Downloads
