Las meretrices romanas : mujeres libres sin derechos
Abstract
The roman prostitutes were in the Ancient World one of the most controversial figures of the social world: they were free people, but they hadn't rights althougth their work was necessary for the roman society. However they were rejected and these things are reflected in Law. These figures suffered the sexist and patriarchal society consequences clearly. The "double moral", maybe we would tell "false moral", led up to a situation in which the prostitutes were in the pyramidal base of the rights and privileges social scale. Why Law maimed them?Downloads
