Please find below the Call for Papers (only Linguistics) for the Journal of English Studies (JES) (ISSN 1576-6357; EISSN 1695-4300):

Call for Papers

JES is an annual peer-reviewed international scientific journal of the English Studies department at the University of La Rioja with the FECYT Seal of Quality, indexed in JCR and Scopus databases. It publishes articles on all research areas within the domain of English Studies.

On this occasion, the journal specifically invites submissions presenting empirical research or methodological and theoretical studies (6,000–10,000 words) on topics within Linguistics, including:

Bilingualism and/or multilingualism, Child language, Comparative linguistics, Computational linguistics, Contrastive linguistics, Conversation analysis, Corpus linguistics, Curricular/syllabus design, Discourse analysis, Ethnolinguistics, Etymology, Forensic linguistics, Historical linguistics, Language acquisition/learning, Language assessment, Language for specific purposes, Language planning and policy, Language teaching, Lexicology and lexicography, Linguistic theory, Natural language processing, Neurolinguistics and clinical linguistics, Phonetics and phonology, Pragmatics, Semantics, Semiology, Sociolinguistics, Syntax, and Translation and interpretation.

Accepted submissions will be initially published as accepted papers in press. They will receive a DOI for citation and will appear as a preprint version on the journal’s website before they are formally assigned to an issue. Authors will be notified of the initial editorial decision within one month of submission.

Please, be aware that this call for papers is not for a monograph on linguistics: accepted submissions will be published from issue 2026 onwards as part of the regular issues of the journal.

Deadline for submissions: 1st March 2026

Contributions should be written in English and follow the journal’s submission guidelines.
