Abstract

In this paper the winter temperature and humidity in Logroño (Spain) is studied, using data of different streets, squares and routes of the city. The analysis of the information permits to evaluate the intensity of urban heat island that shows a thermic difference of 3°C between the city centre and the outskirts (mean 1.7ºC). The authors have observed that the urban heat island does not respond to a central model. Logroño has hot or cold areas in relation to great routes, building desing and urban activities. The humidity is very conditioned by the proximity of the Ebro river. Using a GIS, a cartographic model of the urban heat island has been drawn.
