This essay deals on the study of the International Criminal Court as a mechanism to eradicate impunity for those crimes that affect humanity as a whole. For a better understanding of the matter, we will first analyse the humanisation process carried out in International Law and the backgrounds and features of the Court. Further along, we will study its jurisdiction and powers, therefore, we will also study the crimes or potential crimes over which it can exercise its jurisdiction.
Finally, we will delve into the problematic relationship between the Court with the Security Council.
