This paper studies the ox-bow of Juslibol, whose origin and evolution we have been able to follow with the cartograph y of the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th, and with aerial photography from 1946. We deduce that the human factor is one of the most important modifying factors of this natural environment. Anthropic action, trying to obtain lhe best use of the space not covered by the ríver, tums out to be aggressif in many cases, especially when it destroys riparian plant formations. The breaking o[ equilibrium has created dramatic situations (floods of 1961) which have obliged man to plan important works of protection and regulatíon of the river.Downloads
