Abstract

This paper deals with the study of the geomorphologic evolution in the Albalate de Cinca-Candasnos region. This area is characterized by several plio-cuaternary levels, taking their origin both in the Sierras Exteriores of Huesca and in the central carbonated platforms of the Depresion Ebro. The quaternary modelling consist mainly on several levels of glacis which form the Sierra Ontiñena piedmont, and by a group of terraces which are included in the fluvial system "A lcanadre-Cinca". This accumulative morphogenetic levels are topped by calcareus crusts, which can reach a great development and whose textural and facies features (Chalky crust, brecciated, nodular and laminated) lead us to consider them as a result of accumulative (chemical and/or biochemical and mechanic) and postaccumulative (edaphic and diagenetic) proccesses. Several accumulatil'e and erosive episodes take place during the Holocene, which are revealed in two slope regularization stages (post/berían and postMedieval) and two "vales" generation stages, separated respectively by erosion and incision periods.
