Rills in abandoned fields: first observations about their capacity to carry sediments

Abstract

Rills in abandoned fields: first obseroations about theircapacity tocarry sediments. The characterístics of the rill networks in abandoned fields are studied, mainly their capacity to carry coarse sediments. Using single sediment traps in several rills, we prove that only in few occasions stones move and that, in all cases, their proportion in the sediment balance is very smalL The morphometric features of the rills show that they are quite inmature, little organized systerns.
