Abstract

The present work analyzes the transition territories that appear from the suburban dispersion process and that doesn’t have urban or rural characteristics, but they present signs in one or other according on their proximity to both spaces. The territorial organization process could have moments in the city construction cycle (creation and expansion, consolidation and strengthening, and standstill and retraction) which are representatives of transition morphologies. Since the incorporation of Milton Santos’s regimen and rupture concept, it is possible to appreciate the dynamism and fluctuation, which result are three subtypes of transition morphologies: suburban, “periurbano” in suburban process and “periurbano”.
