Abstract

In this paper the author studies the incisions that appear above timberline in Sierra de la Demanda (Iberian System, Spain). These are isolatedly localized on the heads ofravines and on the slopes connecting with the drainage network. They reveal, together with other processes, the importan! eros ion that these areas tolerate. The incisions can be consequence of the drainage network evolution and readjustement, reinforced by other local factors such as faults, a deep mantle of screes or deforestation.
