The Role of Women in The Fight Against Violence in Colombia

Colombian women have played a crucial role in resisting multiple forms of violence, particularly in regions affected by the armed conflict. The objective of this article is to analyze the relationship between gender violence and the role of women in peacebuilding in the Colombian context. The methodology used was qualitative and descriptive with an empirical scope, based on the interpretative paradigm, the ethnographic-hermeneutic method adapted to the documentary review. The interpretation of the data was through content analysis. Among the findings, the impacts of the Colombian armed conflict on women's bodies are presented. It also outlines the failures in the institutional care processes that perpetuate inequalities and revictimization. Finally, the role of women in peace building is revealed.
