Due to constant urgent reforms these are uncertain times for labour law, which has suffered a real seismic shift from its traditional role of equilibrium of a system of unequal positions of the parties, to become a staunch defender of the company and of competitiveness, growth and jobs. After blaming labour law for the very serious problems of the labour market, measures have been taken to defend employment that are responsible for the current job insecurity, and represent a significant reduction on the rights of workers and their protection. The lack of positive results of this option strengthens the need to defend the fundamental and inalienable nature of the protective function of our discipline, while inequality exists, even though we continue to seek a balance with other interests also worthy of protection.
