This paper provides a sketch of the latest reforms introduced on the protective action of the Social Security System. It tries to prove if changes of such intensity have been operated in order to conclude a Social Security crisis has happened, understanding this concept from the perspective of its capacity to develop its historical task. The work takes into account the legislative reforms in conjunction with the changes that are taking place in the form of provision of services in the new post-capitalist society.
