The formal education in Pakistan: how do women get educated?

The fact that it is difficult to find written sources of information in Spanish about the formal education in Pakistan has brought about this paper which gives a gender perspective. Firstly, the educational system is introduced stressing the substantial disparity between males and females in educational achievement due to the specific restrictions and disadvantages faced by women. There is no such thing as a neutral education neither in Western countries nor in Pakistan where Islam influence the educational system. Comparisons and references to some aspects regarding the educational system in Spain and Pakistan have been used in order to try to understand the pakistani one.Downloads
