Consideraciones previas para la recuperación y revitalización del legado visual del calígrafo Juan de Yciar (s. XVI)

Abstract

We start from the hypothesis that the cultural tradition conformed by Juan de Yciar´s (1522-s/f) calligraphic work supposes a fundamental testimony of our visual patrimony about the formal configuration of the alphabetic forms. Our proposal to recover and revitalize these calligraphic forms reflects that these shapes continue being nowadays referential factors to understand and to assess the aesthetic and expressive aspects of the letters´ image. They suppose a graphic model of learning for the development of designers´ didactic contents in a plastic education´s process, determining contexts and forms of reading valid for the future.
