The episcopal capitalization of the cult of the saints is a well-known phenomenon during Late Antiquity. However, there were some conflicts during holy men’s lifetime. This paper purposes to analize principal cases in Visigothic Spain: sometimes holy man is faced up to authority (kings and bishops). In any case patronatus caelestis will end in large measure under control of leaderships.
