Abstract

This paper reviews the concept of alterity developed by Levinas, and it shows five fundamental areas around which this philosopher raises this issue. These are the metaphysical, religious, subjective, linguistic and ethical dimensions, all of them closely interconnected. They provide multiple perspectives to reflect on alterity.
