María Cristina de Borbón-Dos Sicilias and its relation with Poland and the Poles

The Queen Maria Cristina of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duchess of Riánsares, is a character that is covered by its “black legend”. Several historical has not wanted to see that María Cristina, who in the political and economic fields made many mistakes and improprieties, in his private life was an example to follow. Few specialists of the subject have noticed that the “human side” of her was to the Poles. The aim of this paper is to fill those gaps. Basing on the manuscripts found in the Spanish and Polish archives, the text tends to reveal an unknown relationship of María Cristina and her second husband with Poland and Poles.Downloads
