Abstract

The article examines the relationship between image, social struggles, and intersectionality in the social movements of Abya Yala (Latin America and the Caribbean), highlighting how social media and the culture of images have transformed symbolic disputes. Through concrete examples, it emphasizes the need for an intersectional approach in constructing images to make visible multiple oppressions (gender, race, class, etc.) and propose emancipatory alternatives. It underscores the importance of articulating struggles in both physical and virtual spaces, overcoming exclusions and stereotypes that persist in visual representations.
