Cuadernos de Investigación Filológica (ISSN 0211-0547, EISSN 1699-292X) is a publication of the University of La Rioja dedicated to the diffusion of studies in the field of Philology. In order to be published, proposals must be original works of any area of Philology (linguistics, literature, literary theory, etc.) and must obtain two favorable reports in the blind peer review process. The journal will accept:
Exceptionally and always accompanied by a positive report from the Scientific Committee, works that exceed the indicated extension will be admitted when the extension is justified.
CIF supports publication proposals in Spanish, French and English.
Papers will be sent to two anonymous reviewers proposed by the members of the Editorial Board and / or the journal's Scientific Committee. Works must obtain two positive evaluations in order to be published. The evaluation will be done respecting the anonymity of both the authors and the evaluators. The authors, therefore, must be extremely cautious to avoid the appearance of any kind of personal information that allows them to be identified.
Upon receipt of the originals, the authors will receive an acknowledgment of receipt and, after the evaluation, a notification of the editorial decision. Originals will not be returned.
This journal publishes two issues a year.
The contents of this journal are published collectively as part of a number, closing the possibility of adding new elements to it once published.
The first volume of CIF was published in 1975 by the Colegio Universitario of Logroño. From 1992 the University of la Rioja publishes this yearly journal that contains original scholarly contributions (full-length articles, review articles, and squibs) in all research areas related to the field of philological studies (linguistics, literature, literary theory, etc.) particularly those pertaining to the study of Spanish, English, French, and Classical Languages (Latin, Greek).
Papers submitted to Cuadernos de Investigación Filológica will be screened for plagiarism using Safe Assign plagiarism detection tool. Cuadernos de Investigación Filológica will immediately reject papers leading to plagiarism or self-plagiarism.
This journal provides open access to its content, based on the principle that providing open access to research helps a greater global exchange of knowledge.
It is recommended to deposit supplementary material, at least the research data underlying publications, in institutional or thematic open-access repositories federated in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).
The authors retain copyright of articles and authorize Cuadernos de Investigación Filológica the first publication. They are free to share and redistribute the article without obtaining permission from the publisher as long as they give appropriate credit to the editor and the journal.
Self-archiving is allowed too. In fact, it is recommendable to deposit a PDF version of the paper in academic and/or institutional repositories.
It is recommended to include the DOI number.

For preservation purposes, all the journal published by the University of La Roja are also included in RIUR (Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de La Rioja) and Dialnet.
Likewise, Cuadernos de Investigación Filológica uses the LOCKSS system (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), which ensures the journal has a permanent and secure archive. The archived issues can be accessed in the LOCKSS Editorial Manifesto (https://publicaciones.unirioja.es/ojs/index.php/cif/gateway/lockss). In this way, articles are progressively archived, guaranteeing that the stored digital information can remain available and continue to be used in the future.
