Abstract

"Breakfast of Champions" can be considered a turning point in the literary career of Kurt Vonnegut. By using the doppelganger technique as a means of defining characters, as well as a carefully designed self-conscious use of fiction versus reality, he leads us to the conclusion that he is revising his existentialist themes, submitting them to a profound re-interpretation as to the essence of their meanings.
