Abstract

The article gives a clase account of a brief opuscule ("Lucio Junio Moderato Columela. Estudio biográfico y crítico", by José Ignacio Valentí) published in Palma de Mallorca in 1893. It is, in fact, a badly sewn cento that borrows its materials from diverse sources, afien hidden and not always reliable. "Un supuesto estudio biográfico y crítico de Columela" brings to light the plagiarisms, errors and contradictions that have been observed, and considers the signification of the booklet among the literature on Columella written in XIX century Spain.
