La mujer ejemplar en tres textos épicos castellanos

Abstract

In this article, I compare the female characters present in the "Poema de mio Cid", "Poema de Fernán González" and "Mocedades de Rodrigo", with contemporary legislation and documentary sources. The analysis of such a comparison leads me to conclude that the female model that appears in these poems, although in general consonance with the one proposed by the legislation and documentary sources, responds to a more static ideology. In these literary works, women exercise a lesser role in economic and political activities than the role assigned to them in legislation, and to the one they seem to have practiced in real life during the same period.
