Abstract

In this article, the author observes, enumerates and details the anarchist political philosophy -which entitles freedom, individualism, progress and science- in correspondence to the aesthetic of Martínez Ruiz's La voluntad, its structure, its topics and its language. Considering that Modernismo implies a revolution or spiritual crisis of the letters, the article unifies the aestheticand political principles of this literary movement with the literary anarchism, spread by Martínez Ruiz in articles such as "Anarquistas literarios" and "Notas sociales", Pío Baroja's "Prólogo casi doctrinal a la novela" and Rubén Darío's España contemporánea. The final objective of this article is to establish the development of Fin de siècle realistic-naturalist narrative into Modernism, using the heterogeneous model of La voluntad.
