Larra no pudo sustraerse, ni como crítico ni como creador, al influjo que la ópera tuvo en su época. Como crítico, defendió la supremacía del teatro nacional sobre la ópera, y dio cuenta de los estrenos más importantes. Como creador, se unió a aquéllos que consideraban necesario crear una ópera nacional y por ello se atrevió a escribir el libreto de El Rapto.Downloads
