Los intensivos léxicos y morfológicos : su importancia lingüística y estilística

Abstract

The present paper studies the phenomenon ofthe intensification in the Spanish language, from a historical perspective. It alludes to the latin origin of sorne intensive elements, and refers to sorne morphologic and lexical examples of such intensive elements, taken outfrom Lope de Vega's Comedies, to contrast the synchrony ofthe XVIth-XVIIth centuries with the synchrony of Modern Spanish. The linguistic and stylistic functions which these intensive elements have in the language, has been used as a reference. The paper tries to show so me of the mechaniss on which the stylistics of these elements is founded.
