La "Crux Decussata" y el martirio de San Andrés Apostol

In this paper the author discusses the Latin idiom "crux decussata", first used by Justus Lipsius in 1593, but coming from the ancient words "decussis", "decussare" and "decussatio", and attibuted to the cross, in the form of X, which, only much centuries after the Apostles, began to appear on iconographic images of Apostle S t.
