On 29 October 2024, Paiporta (Valencia), together with other municipalities, experienced an unprecedented flood. In the days that followed, the inhabitants of Paiporta took to public spaces and began to express their need for help, their gratitude towards volunteers, or their confrontation with the institutions. In this way, the linguistic landscape (Pütz & Mundt, 2019), both physical and digital, became a discursive space for protest. Drawing on a personal corpus of 230 images, this study analyses the processes of appropriation, self-management and reterritorialisation (Martín Rojo, 2023), as well as other performative elements such as resemiotisation and entextualisation. In addition, a detailed analysis is presented of the examples 20:11 ni oblit ni perdó and Mazón dimissió.
