Abstract

This article is a presentation and transcript of the Negrete’s Parliament diary of the late eighteenth century. The copy used in the article is at the Campomanes archive of the Spanish University Foundation. It narrates in great detail the preparations for the frontier meeting between Indians and Spaniards, with valuable ethnographic information as well as the vision the Hispanic authorities based in the kingdom of Chile had of the indigenous
