Abstract

Cultural memory serves as a framework of analysis to approach a memory that is transmitted to us through its individual and collective aspect. What is shared is taken on by individuals, who enter a cross-border space in order to understand their place in the world and society. In this sense, the genre of science fiction offers us a valuable framework for studying these phenomena based on the social critique that these works are capable of carrying out thanks to the process of estrangement that they generate in the reader. Our purpose will be, in this sense, to study a specific aspect of the conversion of the female figure into an objectualised other by analysing the presentation of the archetype of the femme fatale in the series Dune: Prophecy (2024).
