In this paper is made an traductological analyse of the Esteban Manuel de Villegas' translation of Hor. Carm. I 35, and it is compared to the Bartolome Leonardo de Argensola's one, poet whom he maintained a relation of friendship and literary taste with. Through this analyse is concluded that Villegas had a very good knowledge of Latin and horatian poetry, whose content is respected, and an own translation style, influenced in some details by Fray Luis and Argensola, but ever based on horatian original text.Downloads
