Abstract

In this paper it is proposed a comparative analysis about the use and function of the anagnorisis in the Renaissance and Baroque into the Spanish tragedy. In the first part, it is taken an approach of Aristotle’s Poetics to define modes and types of anagnorisis amenable to study. In the second part, there is the application theoricpractical that is used in two representative works of the Spanish Golden Age drama to show the implications of this dramatic process it is generated in representation. Finally, it is shown his similarities and differences in the development of the modern tragedy.
