Call for Papers. Monograph: “Generative AI as a Cognitive Artifact: Implications for the Arts, Creativity, and Education”
Contextos Educativos will soon publish a special issue entitled “Generative AI as a Cognitive Artifact: Implications for the Arts, Creativity, and Education”, coordinated by Joao Queiroz (Federal University of Juiz de Fora, Brazil), Rosa de las Heras (Autonomous University of Madrid), and Alfonso da Silva (University of La Rioja). This special issue will correspond to Issue 38 (December 2026). Submissions will be accepted until 15 September 2026 (inclusive).

The thematic areas covered by this special issue are:
- AI-assisted creativity and the formation of new artistic cognitive niches.
- AI-generated visual culture: biases, interpretation, and meaning-making.
- Generative AI, visual literacy, and critical image education.
- Cognitive semiotics and creative pedagogy in the era of generative AI.
- Artificial intelligence, artistic practices, and distributed creativity.
